Entrepreneurs using Social Marketing need to Build Friendships First

Hey Everyone I am back doing video’s again. I have been quiet over the last few months because I have been busy working in the trenches. I have been working with a Record Label, Politician, Real Estate Agent…etc. I also have been writing e-books and listening to my business friends on the industry challenges.

The biggest challenge that I am finding is that entrepreneurs that are trying to get online are using the old style of business to try to use Social Marketing. They are getting frustrated and not seeing results which is completely understandable.

Using Social Marketing is all about building relationships and connecting to your followers where ever they maybe. You have to court them just like a date, as well you have to speak the same language.

I am going to start doing more video and I have asked all my business friends if they would do interviews with me to help you guys out. They have all agreed that they would love to do interviews on how they use Social Marketing and tips they would recommend.

Unresolved Issues

 

It’s 5:00am in the morning and I’m having problems sleeping due to there is just so much going on in the world.  So many people are stressed, worried, confused, upset and just feeling things are getting worse. When I talk to people all these unresolved issues are coming up for them. In fact they are escalating to the point it is dragging them deeper.

My training has given me the opportunity to be able to take an outside perspective and really see what is going on for me, as well the people around me. Everyone I talk to knows there is something changing, things are not the same be it in the world or in just their lives. It could be career, finances, relationships, health issues, energy vampires, time vampires…etc. If you don’t know the term “vampire” think of someone sucking your energy or taking all your time. We all have come in contact with these types of people, some latch on and some you’re able to get away from.

As you can see and I think we are all in agreeance that things are changing. Change can only happen when we make room for it. Now if you have unresolved issues guess what, those are the first things that have to go. You have to make room for change and the unresolved issues are going to come to the surface. If you deal with it they are going to go away, but if you suppress it for a bit, it will come back even bigger. The more you suppress it the bigger it’s going to grow. If you let it get to big it will consume you and affect all areas of your life. Trust me on this, I coach people internationally and see it time and time again. In fact when I was going through my divorce that was my unresolved issue and it kept coming back stronger and stronger. Until I just Man’d up and dealt with it. It was one of the hardest most frustrating, tiring challenges I had to deal with. Guess what? It’s over and it hasn’t come back.

I am sure you’re asking ok if I have an unresolved issue how do I deal with it, here are some recommendations I would tell people.

First you have to see how big the challenge is, are we talking about cleaning the garage or are you going through a huge life changing divorce. Depending on the situation you will need more help.  If you feel you can deal with the unresolved issue be respectful to it, don’t get upset and keep emotion out of resolving the issue. Emotions just complicate things and will cause more frustration, especially if you get upset/angry. Have a plan of action and do your best to stick to it. The plan might not go perfect but if you get 80% through the process you can always go back later and resolve that 20%.

Now if you find that it is taking too much time/energy and you’re losing the battle, call in reinforcements.  This is when you ask for help. Now here’s a warning, the more personal the issue the more pride “Ego” you’re going to have tied up in it. Let your ego go, tell it to go sit in the corner and ask for help. Ask friends, family…etc and if the situation is to big call in the big guns, the Professionals.  This way you resolve the issue without getting sucked in and dragged further into it. Remember the goal here is to get your unresolved issue resolved, not drag them on. Trust me when I was going through my divorce I didn’t do it alone. I had my lawyer, 2 really good friends with me through the whole ordeal and my family behind me helping me through the divorce.  I called in everyone, trust me if I had to do it again. Which I never hope I do, I would even call in more people to help resolve the issue even faster.

 

 

Here are some guidelines I would recommend and just to recap what I said above.

1) Be kind and compassionate while going through the process of resolving your unresolved issue

2) Don’t let your emotions get involved, set out a plan and implement it

3) Tell your Ego to take a seat in the corner, you need to deal with this Unresolved issue and you need to call in reinforcements.

4) If you find it is dragging you down and you just can do it alone, CALL in THE PROFESSIONALS

 

 

Remember life is about growth and community, if you’re not able to grow because of an unresolved issue call in the community to help you.

How The Twitter Doctor Was Born

Good morning Everyone,

I have been growing through some growth and transformation over the last 5 to 6 months. It has been hard but rewarding.

So many of us are having this issue be it with our relationships, business, health…etc The one challenge people keep coming to me with is they are stressed about certain aspects of life and they want to change. The biggest two are Business/career and finances that I have been coaching people.

They are not happy with their boss, the job is not providing them personal satisfaction and they are looking else were…etc Then on top of that they are struggling with finances and trying to do multiple things to make money. A few are working a full time job, trying to build a business on the side and trying to keep their life in balance while struggling with money.

I know how these people feel I was there only a year ago really trying to find what was working until I decided to focus on what was right in front of me. Doing some market research and listening to the people I was coaching. I found out that these people had similar challenges and needed a simple way to get out of it because if it was complicated it would just add to the mix.

Being an IT guy from the past I saw how Social Marketing was helping people build their businesses online, how they were getting more exposure, attracting more clients and the revenue was increasing but there was a specific way to do this. To many people were failing but the ones who weren’t there was a patterns.  One of the patterns was that these people was these successful people weren’t using Social Marketing to pitch their products/services they were using it to build relationships, to meet more people and really connect.  To me this was brilliant because they were getting in front of 1,000’s of people per day for FREE and people were feeling the connection.

This is when I started doing this with my Twitter @BrandonKrieger (if your reading this follow me) and I saw a little growth, than a little more to the point I was averaging over 100 new followers per day and growing fast.  This was amazing because now I had people I could connect with but I didn’t go back to my old ways of business. I started building Business Friendships and what happened was my business started to grow because I asked what people needed. When they needed my help I treated them like a friend and helped them. If it was a quick question I would answer it for them if it was something in depth I would have them contact me via e-mail.  Now if it was something that I couldn’t answer quickly then I would have them book an appointment explain to them why.  Which at this point they saw what I was doing on line and understood that if I could answer it quickly I would but they knew their question was in-depth and they needed more of my time.

This was an amazing break through but it didn’t stop there the questions started to become how did I build 34,000 followers and how could they do the same. Then I started to realize that people needed to learn how to use the Social Marketing tools properly especially Twitter. I started Coaching a few people and then a few more, to the point now that it has become a full-time business and I have an e-book coming out in the next 2 weeks keep posted at http://www.howtotwitterdoctor.com .

Now you know how the Twitter Doctor was born.

The Truth About Business

How many you are currently running your own business? Are you finding that business is more difficult then you expected? Is everyone under the Sun giving you their opinion on how you should run your own business?

I’m going to be completely honest with you as I always am, this gets worse as you become more successful. People trying to give you “Helpful Tips” when you don’t even ask for their opinion. Even simpler ” would you like my advice” would be nice.

This is where patience, compassion and having good core values plays a big part. When someone starts giving me advice I try to step back and be patient maybe there is a Golden nugget they might give me. Then I be compassionate thanking them for their advice and recommendation. Last but not least I keep my core values in place to keep me focused on my projects.

As long as you have these main business strategies in place and be analytical versus emotional about your business. You will see when things are not working and be able to change them immediately.

Here is what I recommend you have in place

1) Have a action oriented business plan in place that is very detailed

2) Systems in place to measure your results daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually…etc

3) Market research to see what the market wants

4) Feed back systems to see how you can improve

Now these are just 4 basic recommendation but if you have these in place as your core you will be able to build on top of these.

Remember business is not meant to be hard especially in this day and age with Social Marketing. It has never been easier to build a business and market it. As long as you have the right foundation in place, test to measurable results, be consistent and listen you will succeed.

What would you call this?

It’s 4:00am in the morning and I just checked my next event I am hosting on June 12, 2011 www.knssconsulting.com/events.html to see who has registered and saw no one has signed up yet.  First thought that goes through my mind is a little disappointing I know the information is valuable why isn’t anyone registering. Is it the cost, no it”s only $40 not including tax and they will be receiving so much information. Is it the day could be, most people don’t want to come out on a Sunday morning. Hmm I don’t know.

This is the challenges people go through when doing live presentations especially when your client base is international vs local. With online marketing you have to know your demographic. For me I know the people online learning about Social Marketing are learning it through webinars, video’s, podcasts, e-books…etc. But the local market is not taping into that especially the conventional business’s (construction, dry cleaning, doctors offices…etc) who haven’t started to market online yet. They might be to busy to create an online marketing campaign or against it because they don’t understand it.

My goal is to help with both but I wanted to start with local business’s first but I’m finding it hard to reach them globally vs going door to door sort of speak. I don’t want to do all the foot work of doing the market research of business’s in the local area then cold calling them to come out to the event. but from the turn out it looks like that might be an option for my next one.  What do you guys think?

Is Staying Focused Hard?

How hard it is to stay focus

Over the past few months it has been harder then ever to stay focused.

For example everything that has been happening around me like, the “Rapture/ End of Day’s”, working with clients on Holistic healing, coaching Social Technologies, clients asking me about personal training and all that great business opportunities that keep coming up. it’s so hard to stay focuses because the is just so much to choose from.

Look at what is going on around you, are you seeing the same thing? Is there numerous opportunities coming up in your life? Is there people offering you business opportunities, and ways to make more money?

If so trust me I’m going through the same challenges and have found a way to help my community while still staying focused. Here let me explain, most of us know someone in different niches, be it a personal trainer, plumber, real estate, consultant…etc What I do now is this, when someone comes to me with a business opportunity I ask my social network if this is something they need or be interested in. If there is an interest and it’s not aligned with what I’m suppose to be working on for myself. I hand it over to the expert that I have built a business friendship with and let them run with it. It’s their business and it helps them grow. A key point to keep in mind is make sure the expert you are referring to is inline with your ethics. The importance is that in this day of social media and social networking when you refer someone your reputation is on the line. If you refer a amazing person people will see that and trust you which helps build your business friendships for business in the future.

When working in a social trend that you build business friendships in by helping your business friends. You must have a 50/50 relationship and if it is only one sided that you are helping them out but they aren’t helping you. It is time to find a new business friend, think of it like a bad boyfriend you need to break up with them.

When you are focused on your dream try to stay focused on it. This will help you achieve success faster and easier.

Think of raising a 2 year old child how they need food, attention, nurturing, time to play with them. Imagine you had a second 2 year old, now a 3rd one, a 4th one…etc each of those being a business opportunity and you will realize how important it is just to focus on one at a time.

Customers Decreasing? Use this tool to Attract Paying Customers

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday was a great event, some really successful Entrepreneurs came out and learned a lot about Social Media and Social Technologies. Consensus across the board was that there are so many people running into one of these main issues in their business

1) Just don’t have the time to be able to update all the social networking sites, record a video edit it and then post to all the Social Media and Social Networking Sites

2) Don’t see the return on investment, they have been using the tools but are just struggling to build those relationships and connect with their followers. These people are become desperate because their finances/profits are decreasing because they are just not getting the customers they use too.

3) Don’t believe that this style of marketing is going to last. This is just a fad and will pass.

Sad to see but so many Entrepreneurs are finding this challenges and are getting desperate because of the economy people are needing to make more money. They are going to online business’s, mlm’s, …etc with the dream that it will make them financially safe. But not realizing their a business as well and you have to have a business model, Social marketing plan and daily actions in place so that you can attract paying customers. Now lets say you are in a local business and you are paying for advertising space, Yellow pages, ads, build boards…etc Which can get up to the $10,000 to $20,000 per month depending how much money you are making and how aggressive you are at building your business.

I have been seeing people desperately trying to find a solution how to get a head of their competition with little over head so they can see a higher ROI for their business and attracted more paying customers. Speaking to these Entrepreneurs and all of us agreeing that people are currently searching for products/services on Google, 500 Million on Facebook, 200 Million on Twitter more then every before. They realize they have to start advertising to these sites, BUT HOW!

I have tried different marketing online systems, applications…etc with a lot of over head and very low rate of return. I was waiting on getting my iPad and iPhone setup to start Coaching Live using Ustream. Guess what I got everything up and going that I have finally decided to do a Live Ustream coaching for everyone to come out and see.

Social Technologies Coach – What Brings You Joy?

Working with people worldwide and having my ear to the ground it’s sad to see that with our economy changing that people are not changing with it. When I ask the people I coach “What Brings You Joy”  I get a sorts of answers but when it comes to what they do 30, 40 even 60 hours a week. They hate it, you guessed it, work!  There are some key areas in life that we spend majority of our time and one is work. Then we have relationships with people, significant others, family…etc, exercise, studying if your growing mentally and last but not least entertainment.

Most people can tell me what brings them joy in the entertainment but in those other areas especially over the last few years there are so many people who are just unhappy.  Hopefully you’re not feeling that way and you have been able to get out of what I call the rat race or matrix. But if not there are some things I want you to know.

First lets define Joy vs happiness , Happiness is something that you purchase or possess that can be taken away from you. Joy is yours and yours only that no matter what happens if you have all your clothes taken from you, your house gets burned down…etc you still have Joy.  Plus with Joy if you do it right, you give Joy to the people around you as well which brings you more joy.

To hit this home let me give you an example, happiness for me is getting tech products, iPad, iPhone, clothes…etc  but want brings me happiness knowing I can help people, that I have the knowledge and ability to help people I come in contact with. Now doing get me wrong if everyone on earth was gone and I was the last man standing. I still know that I have that ability and I can coach the most important client I have ever had “ME”. So no matter what happens nothing can take that away. That is just one example of what brings me joy.

Take a look at what is going on in your life, how is your work. Oh, this is very important!!! If your job does not bring you Joy I am not saying quiet right now, but work towards building a career/business that does bring you Joy and the people around you.

I write this article because I see so many people searching for Joy, trying to make happiness instead from monetary growth and just wearing themselves out mentally, emotionally and physically.  This new age of business and marketing is not about how much money you can make. It’s about bring Joy to yourself and the people around you when you really get that life as you know it will change. Trust me I live my Joy each and every day and I am so grateful for the people I have had the chance to connect with.

Why I’m an Open Book

I have people ask me over the last few weeks why do I put all my personal information online. Why do I tell everyone what I am going through, the challenges I am having. For example this last week I talked about my challenges with Family Court, how I was up late, the challenges I was going through and still dealing with. I do this for 2 reasons; 1) when I was going through my first initial Family Court case I felt alone, I felt know one understood me. At times it was validated from my friends who couldn’t understand what I was going through. It was personally a hard time for me and I wish someone could support me and understand what I was going through. 2) I do it because I know my purpose in life is to help people, to use my life experience and education to help people overcome challenges in their lives. If I write one post and it connects to only one person who feels that someone understands them, I have served my purpose.

People ask but what about the money, how do you make money through this. First, all of us need to survive, we need to pay our bills, put food on our table and a roof over our head. I don’t focus on the money because my personal belief is this, if I can write a blog post that explains the challenge and provides a solution that helps people then I am happy. If someone needs more help and wants me to coach them then we will discuss monetary value for my time. People who know me will tell you that I will give resources, videos, books…etc before I will have someone personally work with me and when people work with me directly I love to give information and educate people.

As the world is changing and I have been talking about this for a while now, we are a global community that needs to help each other. Boarders, Governments…etc is a non issue when it comes to Social Technologies be it Social Media or Social Networking. At any point of the day you can connect with someone any where around the world. Guess what they have their challenges too and like I mentioned before want to feel that someone understands them, someone has gone through what they are going through and they are not alone. Now if you have the solution for the challenge they are going through they are so grateful and you probably saved them a lot of time and stress of them dealing with their challenge on their own.

I might call myself a Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Social Technologies Coach…etc but at the end of the day that is just my education and experience. I’m a human being who is part of a global community that I personally feel wants to be connected and needs leaders to guide with integrity, be authenticate and are able to say I am not perfect and will learn from their challenges in life.

That is why I’m an open book, my purpose in life is to educate, coach and help as many people as I can.

Do you Believe or Don’t you?

Hi Everyone,

It has been a while since I wrote on my blog I want to clarify what is going on with me and how I have evolved to where I am today as well this is more a personal post vs a technical one.

Over the last several years I changed over from an IT Consultant to a Holistic Lifestyle Coach. Which has really taught me how to be healthy in all areas in life, Personally, Professionally and Spiritually.  That has evolved to I use all the tools and knowledge that I have gained and combined them.  That is why I have been using the title as “Social Technologies Coach” by combining the IT knowledge and Holistic Lifestyle coaching to really help people on all levels as well globally.  That is why you will see on my website at knssconsulting.com I offer 3 main services  Holistic Lifestyle Coaching, Business Coaching, Social Technology Coaching.  Each one working on a certain aspect for example Holistic Lifestyle Coaching working on You, Business Coaching is working on the We aspect of your relationships with people, career or business, Social Technology Coaching working on the ALL relationships of working with society and on a global scale.

I tell you this to make you understand that as I evolve it is because I have my ear to the ground and I am watching to see what people are asking for and trying to be of service. I still work on these key principals no matter what the person coming to me wants to work on. I believe everything you do is about I (meaning you) We relationships and the ALL. You have to start at the foundation which is you and work your way up.

Over the past 2 years I have been taking more spiritual growth and alternative courses looking at energies, treating people like Reiki, working with positive energies and clearing negative energies.  Not forgetting and always having my other tools in my kit to help people. I am find lately more people are feeling changes in energy around them, be it weather, climate, being in a room with people and just not feeling comfortable…etc  To people who walk into a room and just don’t feel comfortable, the hair stands on the back of their neck, they start feeling sick, whatever that may be.  Whatever your beliefs are I respect if you are relating this to religion, paranormal, whatever. I am not relating this to any religion this is just my analytical mind expressing what I have seen and felt.

Now they reason why I am talking about this is because this is a personal subject for me, because as far as I can remember. I use to be scared at night and feel that something was in my room with me. I’m not saying there was but it just didn’t feel right, made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and my heart race. To the point I would cover my head with a blanket and pull my comforter up to my chin so I would only have my mouth out so I could breath.  To this day I still have nights where I sleep with a blanket over my head.  Now over the years I have talked to different people be it professionals or just friends and families.   I tell you this is because this is one of the reasons I started to learn about energies, psychics….etc I learned ways of protecting myself, my place, as well as the people around me.  That is why I keep taking more spiritual courses to learn how to help people overcome these same challenges.  Taking these courses has helped me feel more secure and that I am able to protect myself, my family people that I meet that need my help.  I don’t want anyone to go through the same challenges that I went through especially kids because for me that is the scariest growing up feeling scared when I slept.

Some things you can do for yourself is

1)      Keep your house, work area…etc clean and orderly

2)      Through the day open up the windows and let fresh air and light come in

3)      Stay positive and if you feel there is something you are experience that is scaring you contact a professional who can give you a free consultation. There are people that can help you I wish I would of know that when I was growing up.

Building A Genuine Social Community

One of the challenge today is building a social community that is genuine or what I like to say authentic.  With the new age of Social Media and Social Networking people are still trying to build their communities on monetary value.  They are trying to build a list of people so that they can pitch and sell too.  With the new global Social interaction this will only get you so far until people see through you. On the other side of the coin people are looking for direction and there are so many people in the the Fight or Flight state because of everything that has happened over the last 4 years.  Going through a recession, people losing their jobs, financial challenges and all the issues that come with those.  People are looking for a solution to get them out of the Fight or Flight state into a place were they feel safe and secure.

I personally see this as I’m keeping my ear to the grown, watching how people are communicating on Facebook, Twitter, Blogs…etc How you can see 80% to 90% of communication is about making money. I completely understand we all have to pay our bills, put food on the table, clothes on our back. The difference is the new economy is about helping people and building a relationship with them.  What you are seeing is that people who value the help will give back, be it a trade of service, monetary or bartering to help someone else. Now if you look back to the early 50’s and in small communities today that haven’t been modernized you will see this. Communities are there to help each other.  I will help you cut down that tree, if you help me build my garage. This same way of thinking our Grandparents or our parents depending how old you are. They understood the importance of community and looking out for each other.  The difference is their community was local tight net community and everyone knew each other.

Today that way of thinking and that community now is global.  If you don’t believe me take a look at someone who you know that is famous. See if they have a Fan Page on Facebook  if they do, check out who is posting in their page and where are they from. You will quickly see that even if you are in a local business as soon as you post anything on the internet you are instantly putting yourself out their to the global community.

This is important to know because you have to know what you are going to get if you put yourself on the internet and are looking to build a community.  In a short period of time you can be know internationally if people are connecting to what you have to say be it video, articles, posts…etc

The question is How do you build a Genuine Social Community;

1) Build a strong foundation for yourself of who you are and what you want. This way no matter who comes to your community it wouldn’t phase you. Trust me there are some great people out there and there are people who are still trying to find their way.

2) Be authentic by letting people know what is the purpose of the community you are building.

3) Connect with people just like you would build a friendship do the same with your community. Don’t pitch or sell. If you are looking to sell a product and that is your purpose to build the community. Trust me it wouldn’t last.  Just like you would help your best friend when they need it, you have to think of your community in the same way.  For example I’m a Social Technologies coach and people ask me about technologies. I don’t try to bill them I give them links, websites, articles…etc then I ask them did that answer their question. That is exactly what I would do with my friends. Now of course there is a line all my friends who understand and we have a mutual appreciation. We will help each other as much as we can but if it gets to the point the relationship isn’t 50/50. Meaning I give the 50% of my knowledge and time but they are not giving the same or the valued amount. Then I tell them sorry I can’t help you. Remember a relationship of any kind should be 50/50 if it isn’t then you need to look at the dynamics of the relationship.

4) Last but not least the community you build should be fun, educate people and help them.

As I see it, the world as we know it is changing. Be it business, relationships, friendships, the energy round us you name it.  It is up to us as a society to realize this so that we can build a strong community that is about helping each other.

Social Technologies Coach Brandon Krieger -Discusses Why people fail at Social Media and Social Networking

While sitting here this weekend, reviewing courses that I have taken in the past two years about Web 2.0, Web 3.0, Social Media and Social Networking, it has really hit home what is really going on with the courses and how people are using these tools.

I see people using the Social Media tools to get their information out there (be it YouTube, Viddler, Blogs, etc.) while using Social Networking tools to try to build lists and followers. This practice is in most courses, online seminars and training videos out there — how to build your list/followers faster, use tools that makes the process automated so you can spend more time doing other things. I’m sure you’ve all heard about these tools and/or might even use them yourself.

However, in my opinion this is the reason why people fail in Social Networking and Social Media. They are missing the biggest part of all, the “SOCIAL” aspect, by using an ever-growing variety of automated tools to grow their accounts for them; they’re not building the friendships that social technologies are based on. So what if you have 100,000 followers or more? If you haven’t built up a relationship with them they will not be listening to what you have to say and will ignore you which your list would be as good as having one follower.

Think of the biggest social networking site around (Facebook) and why it grew to be as big as it is. If you don’t know, it’s because people wanted to see what their friends were up to; videos, pictures, trips, status updates, etc. They want to be meaningfully engaged in the lives of people in their social network.

Think of it in this way: Would you go to a bar and ask each person in that bar, no matter who they are, what they’re interested in or what sex they are? Would you tell a stranger, “I’m a great catch, let’s get married, have kids and I’ll teach you how to be a great lover”?  Now this is a little exaggerated, but look at your Twitter feed and you will see exactly what I’m talking about.

You can see that people are not socializing from these posts and that is why people are failing at Social Media and Social Networking — they’re not meeting people, build a relationship and then helping each other.  Not to pick on MLM (Multi level Marketing), but I have been involved with a company of that sort myself, so I know this challenge from both sides.

In the old days, when you first got into a company, they told you to make a list of everyone under the sun (family, friends, friends of friends, etc.). They would train you to think that you needed them to get involved because they were missing out on the greatest thing ever. Now, when your friends and family got word you were in a MLM company, you wouldn’t hear from them and they would avoid you at all cost. They knew that if you ever got them in a room you would try to close them to either buying your product or becoming part of the company. How is that any different from what people are doing now with Social Media and Social Networking?

Now, I know right now you’re probably either on one of two sides. Either you’re part of these companies/systems and you want to tell me off and tell me I don’t know what I am talking about (which is cool; we all have ways of doing things) or you’re on the other side where you’ve been in the position I just described and are trying to figure out what you can do to become successful. In either case, it’s always valuable to evaluate your method and see where improvements can be made — finding success can be hard and the answers aren’t always apparent.

If I haven’t lost you at this point, my recommendation is to think of Social Media and Social Networking like dating:

You go to a social event you’re interested in, you go and shake people’s hands and really get to know them (Social Networking). You tell them a little bit about yourself (Social Media), maybe even give them your phone number. You go out a few times, chat a bit, have some fun… Before long, you’ve naturally built a relationship where you know each other in a genuine way; they know what you do and who you are as a core person (and vice versa). When the connection is genuine, they’ll love to see what you are doing and talk about you to friends; if you’re really good, they may think you’re an amazing person and want you to meet people in their network, too.  Now you’ve build all these great relationships and become part of a community you likely wouldn’t have been invited to if you had stuck to sales pitch networking. Communities are a wonderful thing because they tend to work together to help each other out when someone needs it.

I am sure the analytical people reading this are thinking, “How does that relate to making money? The income is secondary because if someone needs a service (say a plumber), I am more likely to refer someone from my social network that I know personally then a stranger.” Really think about that statement. When was the last time you referred a complete stranger to a friend of yours to help them with something? For the most part, when people are recommending services to their friends, people will either refer someone they know or the get a referral from someone they trust to refer to you.

With Social Media and Social Networking being a global community, people are connecting more and more each day. Watch, when someone thinks they are being wronged, how many people are getting involved internationally. Even it doesn’t directly affect them, they are still voicing their opinion and supporting.

That is why it is even more important now, and in the future, to start building those relationships. It is up to us as a community to support each other in our growth, health and welfare. That is why I do what I do. That is why I give you as much information as I can to help our global community. Like all of you, I need a roof over my head, food on the table and clothes on my back. But I make sure I do it in such a way that I can give as much as I get; the more I receive, the more I provide. That is how it was hundreds of years ago, when looking at how tribes behaved and cared for each other in a communally positive way. We are no different. The lines in a map mean nothing now. If you want test it, post a comment in your social networking tools and ask where is everyone from. You’ll see there is no such things as boarders anymore. We are one big community.

In closing, I recommend that when you use these Social Technologies, keep in mind that it’s not about the money — it’s about connecting with our community to help each other grow.

Know ThySelf

How many people can really say that they “Know Themselves”

One of the hardest things you will ever do in life is to really know yourself inside and out. How many of you reading this can say they truly know themselves. I know for myself I keep evolving and changing as I learn who I really am.  Just in careers alone I have gone from Warehouse worker, to Security Guard, to IT consultant, to Holistic Lifestyle coach.  This has been my journey in career, business and education but are just my labels that I call myself so I can be recognized as a professional by our community.

I have also gone through personal growth of my relationships with women, family and friends which to this day keeps developing.

How many of you have gone through these very changes or are struggling in your personal and/or professional life but just can’t figure out what to do.

I’m going to go into a little conspiracy rant so those of you reading this who don’t believe just think of this as a story but the ones who do, I want you to take this to heart.  With the change of social media and social networking it’s more important then it has ever before to know your true self.  The everyday person can post something on the internet be it a video’s, posts, articles…etc and have more influence on the people watching/reading then ever before.

I am sure you are asking what does that mean for you. With this world wide global exposure if you don’t really know what you believe in or what your core values are you can get caught up in the crowd going with the hype. I have seen personally video’s scaring people on what to believe or what to think. Take a look at any local news cast from the area you are in. Then go on Google and do a search for that exact story and see what you find.  If it’s a big enough story I am sure your going to find stand news feeds/posts, but your all so going to see people blogging, tweeting, Facebooking..etc what they think.  It is up to you to listen to what you believe what you think so that you don’t get caught up in the social viral exposure. Don’t get me wrong there are some amazing video/articles out there with great content but my recommendation is to always look at “You” first and what you truly feel about what is being said. Then make your decision on what choice you make.  Which in life there is only really 3 choices.

1) Win/Win/Win-  where everyone wins from your choice

2) Lose/Win where your decision you win but someone is on the opposite end.

3) No choice at all.

In the next  year I am predicted people are going to be taking back control from the Government and Corporations that are not serving the people. People globally are coming together to voice their opinions and make a stand for what they really believe in. This is changing our society and will affect our economy.

If you are running a business that has a service/product think of how these changes are going to affect you. This should change the way you support your clients, how you treat them and the service you offer them.  Remember your business even if it’s a local service can become global from your clients with out your control.  Someone posts on Facebook about your Product/Service and they have friends in UK, China, Australia…etc and they read your post. Guess what, you company just got free advertising globally.  That’s how easy it is now with social media and social networking to have your company be advertised world wide.

Make sure you truly take the time to Know Thyself. This way in the new era of relationships, business, marketing, social networking and social media you are going to be part of the global community which is important to truly Know Thyself!

Break Down in Social Networking

I have had a few questions on what exactly these sites are and what to do with them.  I am going to give you a quick break down on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr today because those are the main ones out there that I use. There are hundreds of more but when you look at the top ranking ones these are them.

What is Facebook— Facebook is a social networking website — a gathering spot, to connect with your friends and with your friends of friends. Facebook allows you to make new connections who share a common interest, videos, chats, messages, blogs, expanding your personal network.

Why use Facebook – Facebook is the largest community on the internet with over 500 million members.  What does that mean to you. If you connect and build friendships with people in the largest community on the internet you have the chance that people will like you, if they like you they want to know what you do. If the like you and know what you do and need the service or product you provide. They are more likely to work with a friend then a complete stranger. Just think about this because I know there are thousands of you out there that are scared to put yourself out there on the internet. Which I completely understand, I am just saying this is where business and marketing is going. The reason why is because at any time someone could put up a post about how great you are and millions of people can see it. Or some one can put up a post saying terrible things about you and even more people will see it.  So which side would you like to be on? Just food for thought.

What is Twitter— Twitter is a social network aiming to enable its users to exchange news and opinions mostly concerning specific topics. The editor’s “tweets” are sent via short message with a maximum length of 140 characters and can be subscribed to.

Why use Twitter – Twitter is a great tool to use when trying to get peoples attention. Quick posts or headlines called “Tweets” lead people connect either with you or a site you would like them to go to get more information on the topic.  For you people who are more business minded you can build a list of people to connect with again as friends first that you can exchange activities, comments, current events…etc The same concept goes with Facebook, once you develop a relationship people are more likely to work with you then a stranger.

VERY IMPORTANT! This key point will put you a head of the game of 95% of people who are using Twitter. Think of twitter as dating, image you are at a bar and your sitting there and a good looking, sexy man or women depending what you are looking for. Walks into the bar, sits down and you want to go talk to them.  Now here is where the challenge is the 95% of people who are using Twitter go up to that person and “Tweet”– ” You want to have sex with me lets go now” or ” Lets get married click here to learn more”.  I over exaggerate a bit but it’s to prove a point. Most people that our using twitter are not connecting with their followers.  They are just telling people come here, buy myself, I can get you….  Not even asking if that is what you want.  Make sure just like a relationship you first connect, build up a relationship and if someone is interested in your product or service they will ask.  That is how to use twitter.

What is LinkedIn— LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site that is geared toward sharing business related information

Why use LinkedIn – LinkedIn is a great site to meet other business professionals. Unlike Facebook and Twitter this is more focused on the Business Professional.  Here people post past and present careers. Businesses they have been involved in, websites, blog updates and Twitter updates.  LinkedIn is used for business professional to network with each other.  The benefits are that you can find people in the same business or career and network with them. This gives opportunities for career advancement, referrals and creating a great network of colleagues.

What is Tumblr— Tumblr is a blogging platform that allows users to post text, images, video, links, quotes, and audio to their tumblelog, a short-form blog. Users are able to “follow” other users and see their posts together on their dashboard. Users can “like” or “reblog” posts from other blogs on the site.

Why use Tumblr – Tumblr is a great blogging platform to get connected to people. They have taken the blogging style of posting information and the friend building of twitter so that you can share information. Now remember the reason to do this is to educate people on you, your product and your service.   The more information people can read about you, your product and your service the easier it is for them to connect with you.

Remember the Social Technologies is the trend of how people are learning about people, business’s, products and services.  More people are doing research, googling information about what they need. If you are providing great information and connecting to people each day this is how you are going to build a great network of friends and as a community we will help each other grow.

Look at the growth of Millionaires over the last year and see what they are doing.

Template of Social Technologies

As I did some searches on the internet I realized some definitions of Social Technologies haven’t been really drawn out to people who don’t use them.  I want to make sure as we go forward we are both speaking the same language. That I am not using terms that you don’t understand.  I am not here to talk over you and seem geeky. I want to make sure you walk away understanding this new marketing trend we are in and how to get a head of it.  My goal for you guys reading this is that you are able to implement this in your business immediately.

What’s Your Passion

Over the last 6 months I have really been going back and forth trying to find my passion. Like most of you out there we are over loaded with information, facebook, twitter, youtube, trying to build our business’s but just can’t figure out what exactly is our niche in this global world.

As I watched how people are interacting you see how people are desperately trying to sell their products/services. Watch twitter, you will see the posts people tweeting ” I can do…”, ” Check out this link I found because it will help you…”,…etc. The list goes on and on of these generic posts to anyone that is listening and really attracting a very few.

That is why you have to find out what you’re passionate about. I am sure your asking ok how do I do that.  You have to get to your core values of what you want, what makes you happy. Then do that each and everyday, be around the same people who are doing the same thing, ask that group if there is anything you can do and sit back and listen.

I watched an interesting Youtube Video with Gary Vaynerchuk explaining how this Social Media/Social Networking era is actually bringing us closer together.  Think of this world now like a small community. In the old days if your Grandparents went to go get a dozen (12) buns from the local baker and asked for an extra bun. The baker would give it to them and charge them for the dozen. If the baker didn’t they would tell the community of how they were treated.  Now take that analogy and put it on the World Wide Web.  Never before have we been able to connect with so many people with just with one post.

Now you ask how is that related to your business, your income…etc Think of a time someone help you out when you were looking for answers, would you go back to them if you had another question. Would you refer your community to them if they were just about helping you. This is something you need to think about before you really get out and start posting your world’s greatest products/service.  See how your passion can help someone else, how your knowledge and expertise can answer a challenge or concern they are having. Connect and make a relationship by asking them questions.  From there you will have friends in your community that will want to help you build your business and that is stronger then just building a list of people you don’t even know.

Remember the cliche that “Blood is thicker then water”. Make your business like a family and you will see it grow.

I want to give you action items to help you out. If you are reading this and are having the challenges above

1) What’s your purpose in life?

– This is a real psychological question and can take some time to answer.  To give you some examples People’s purposes in life have been to teach, to heal, to help people in need to give you some examples.

2) What’s your exercise needs?

– Do you exercise in the morning or at night? What type of exercise do you want to do for example spin class, martial arts, sports team…etc

3) What are your relationship needs?

– Do you want to be in a relationship? What type of relationship do you want? Do you want a short term or long term relationship?

4) What are your educational needs?

– Do you want to keep learning? What is your learning style is it Visual, Auditory or Kinesthetic? Do you like learning by self study, in a class room, one on one instructions…etc? What material do you like to learn about; Health and Wellness, Computers, Finances, Business, Real Estate…etc

5) What are your time needs?

– How much time do you need in the morning to get up and get ready? How much time do you need to work out, prepare your food, spend time at work..etc  just a side not this will help with time management remember each of us only have 24 hours in the day. 8 hours to sleep, 8 hours to work. Then 8 hours to divide up with personal time, education, working out…etc

6) What are your rhythms?

– Are you a morning person or night person? Are you more energized in the morning and feel you are more productive or are you more a night?

7)…etc

Really find out what you truly want and then compare it to what you are doing now.

Welcome Too 2011

 

Happy New Year Everyone!

It has been a long time since I posted on here. A lot of great changes have been going on as well trying to clear up some things from the past years.

I am sure most of you are like me planing out your personal goals as well as professional goals for 2011.

I am on the same page as you are. I have completed a Goal sheet as usual but I haven’t finalized it because bombs keep dropping.  Like a revamp of my website as well as Ultimate Sports Therapy’s website. Which we have kept the same look and feel because we think a like. Different content but different look and feel.

In the first Quarter (January to April) I am planing on having my e-book completed and ready for you guys to have. I have heard about going through a publisher but I want to have the choice of what I release and when I can release it.

Some tips I want to give you to help you get started on the right foot.

1) If you have anything lingering that you can deal with from last year try your best to complete that project. I find personally that until you do it keeps coming back either physically or energetically.

2) Start setting out goals and action plans on what you want to get completed and here is the key if they are big project don’t pick more then 3 at the most. I personally tell the people I work with focus on one put all you energy and focus into. When you get it completed then move on to the next one

3) Balance out your time. This is key because I have personally getting caught up with work after a long day of work. I have found my self up at until 4am in the morning trying to get something done.  I know it’s hard to put something down I have been there, but my advice and I am talking my own advice is. Work until 8pm at night then disconnect now if your a shift worker and work nights this wouldn’t apply. If you are a normal 9am to 5pm person and are working on a project after ours shut down at 8pm.  This way you can start to slow down and be able to get good rest and repair for the next day.  It is better to have 1 to 3 hours of focused productivity then a weeks work of scared development.

Start with those ones.

Now just a side note I’m going to do my best to be more active here and really share what I know so that you guys have some great content.  I need your help my goal is to get over 100,000 followers by the end of this year. Now I want to get that many followers because if one person puts a comment or shares an idea it can potential help hundreds of thousands of people.  One thing I’m sure if you read my posts prior to this I put everything out there. I don’t care who is reading this, really.  I only work with 8 to 10 clients per week tops so this is not for financial gain. I don’t have the time to work with more. I am working with a clinic as a consultant and helping them grow.  So my focus right now is to help.  If I can put one post and help that many people I know I am using my knowledge for good use.  I have worked with people all over the world which I have seen the stress and frustration they have. Be it physical health, personal challenges or professional. I coach each of them through the fundamentals at first, then individualize their strategies from there depending on their unique core values and legacy.  Now like I said what if you could put up one comment that 100,000 people who are having the same problem who first understand the challenge. Second you provide them the solution you used to over come that challenge and it works for them.  How amazing would that be.

Holistic Lifestyle Coach talks about How to be Successful in Your Business

Over the years I have read numerous amounts of success books 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Listen to Anthony Robbins…etc.  Each time I was able to move my knowledge up to the next level but it only lasted for so long. Then I had to review it again. I found most of these books were talking about one part of success, be it personal or business but they were talking about the whole package.

I was still over weight but making $70,000 a year doing IT work (Information Technology) which was part of my success that I wanted. I was able to apply the recommendations these books provided me to be successful and obtain it but still was not happy emotionally or physically.  I was having back problems, getting sick but the money was increasing.  I see this time and time again with facebook posts, webinars, groups…etc all talking about the money aspects, How to get more prospects ? How to make more money? The list goes on and on. The challenge is really more serious than people think, most people do not even realize there is a bigger issue.  They do not even know themselves.

I have coach numerous amounts of people trying to become successful from all different countries. Each and every time I have to work on them first personally, nutrition, sleep, core values, legacy..etc
before I worked on their business each and everyone saw success just with those fundamental changes.

I am sure you are saying why would I have to work on these areas first before I work on my business or career success?  Think of it this way if you do not have a strong foundation how are you going to build a high rise that can reach as high as you can imagine?  If your core values, legacy, breathing, hydration, exercise, nutrition and thoughts are not at their optimal how are you going to be able to build on top of it? Business or career is secondary to these main foundational principals.  If they are not strong when you add more pressure your success will crumble to the bottom and you will be wondering why.

I am telling you here today, it is because you did not have a strong foundation to be able to build on.  Before you try making your millions make sure your foundation is strong. Nothing sucks more then spending a lot of your hard earned money, your time and heart into something that crumbles underneath you.
